I wanted to let you know that I am ecstatic with the service and experience I have had at Josephine’s on Eldridge. Katee Cobb has been my stylist for the past 6 months and I am THRILLED with her color, cuts and overall professional demeanor. She is a joy to visit with and truly skilled. In addition, Nareh at your front desk has assisted me at each visit and has been exceptionally pleasant and incredibly helpful. Both of these ladies deserve the highest praise! I look forward to being a Josephine’s client for years to come.

I actually just got back from Josephine's in Pearland Town Center. Mandy cut my hair and did an amazing job. She took her time and continued cutting after my hair was dry to make sure it was just right. I'm very pleased with how my first visit went and will definitely be going back again.
- Pros: Friendly Staff, Great Hair cut
By Eden23
My experience at Josephine's was exceptional. I went in to try something different with my hair. I was a walk in and they took me right away. My hair stylist was very friendly and gave me her honest opinion about what I should do (I wanted to cut bangs but she thankfully talked me out of it). She gave me a great cut and I went in two days later to have her do my highlights, which she suggested. They turned out awesome and I love how good my hair looks!
I got $50 off my highlights since I bought $100 worth of products. And every time I send them a referral they will send me a $25 gift card to the salon.
I am very happy that this salon is in Pearland and I have a new hair stylist that is sweet, friendly and that I can trust with my hair. I look forward to trying out their spa services in the future.

First I just have to say that i am very happy that Pearland have a nice salon like this one. I've been going to Josephine's day spa for about 6 months and i could not be more pleased. This place is very beautiful. From the moment you enter you are greeted with a smiley faces. Lacey is soooo kind and always there to accommodate you . I get hair cut and color with Jamie. And she is more then perfect for me. She always know what i want and i get many compliments on my hair.
And Irena does my facials and brow waxing. And let me tell you how incredible she is. The best facials i ever have. My skin looks and feels fabulous after her facial. She recomended me to use some of Aveda skin care and it helped my skin a lot. And she is very gentle with waxing too. She gets my crazy eyebrows just the way i like it.
Thank you everyone for being so nice to me. You make me feel very special.
Great Haircut, Friendly Staff!

I recently got my hair cut and colored at Josephine's. It was my first visit and the staff all made me feel very welcome and comfortable.
I appreciated the fact that she listened to my concerns and desires then made suggestions that fit my needs. She really knows her profession.
I also had my eyebrows done by Irena. Another success.
I'd recommend this salon (Pearland) highly for the relaxed atmosphere and quality service and products.
- Pros: friendly, knowledgeable staff, close to home, quality Aveda
Pearland.....Took Great Care of ME!
By SBowen
I've had my hair cut horribly from the last lady I went to in the Houston area. It is really hard to find someone that doesn't butcher your hair. I went to Josephine's in the Pearland Town Center and they did such a wonderful job ;) My hair is simple, but I am pretty picky. She did everything to make my hair look great!
OLIVIA IS AWESOME!!! I found my girl....
by nclecrris
After reading all the great reviews I went in to give them a shot. I had went to another salon to have highlights in color I told them I wanted warm color highlights and I was a natural dark brunette so I wasn't expecting to go blonde but they somehow thought blonde was warm??
So I went to Josephine's to get it corrected and Olivia listened to exactly what I told her that I wanted warm redish brownish and she turned my blond back to a warm brown with highlights and I LOVE LOVE LOVE my hair, she is AWESOME and I will definitely go back!! I have found a home and stylist for years, I will never change!
- Pros: customer service, awesome color and stylist, atmosphere
Great place to go! John is amazing!
by Megrn
John is my favorite stylist that I have ever had. I followed him from his old salon, to Josephines. He is 100% meticulous when it comes to my hair, spending time making sure everything is perfect.
I highly recommend John!
Also, Josephines on Eldridge is beautiful! What a great atmosphere to go and get your hair cut at! The service was amazing, and everyone was 100% professional and friendly. I'll be heading back soon -- this place makes me want to go get my hair cut ever 6-8 weeks!
- Pros: everything was wonderful!
Josephine's is GREAT! Love Marni!
by vedu
I have only had wonderful experiences at Josephines and I have Marni to thank. IBeen going to her for a year and thank goodness I found her. A friend at work recommended her. Love her cuts and color. She is never pushy. So sweet and fun to talk to. I love going every 6 weeks. She always does what I ask, but is also helpful with new ideas. have never had a bad experience with her and have recommended her to several friends and family and they have all fallen in love with her as well.
She is friendly, easy to talk to, and very talented about cuts and color. I am never going to let anyone else touch my hair!
Pros: Marni, Marni, Marni
- Pros: Great cuts, color, snacks, wine, no tipping
- Cons: Long drive from my house
My fav place to get my hair done!!!
by kmoodie
This by far is one of my most favorite places to go to relax! I have been going here for over 8 months and have 0 complaints! The staff is friendly and inviting. Everytime I get my hair done it comes out looking wonderful. Ask for Jamie she is the BEST!! But really everyone there is great. It is such a "NO-Pressure" salon. I am never forced into a treatment that I don't want, or pushed to do something wild with my hair. It truley is a spot on place to go in Pearland to get your hair done..well in my opion the ONLY place to go to get your hair done!
- Pros: great service!!
- Cons: What are the drawbacks?
Shey was just what I needed!
by batbaramistro
I am new to Texas so I've left behind all the places I know and love so finding a new salon without ANY recommendations from friends was a big risk! Thank goodness I found Shey at Josephines at the Pearland location. I actually found them using "Yowza" on my Iphone because they advertise specials there and also their website was completely up to date which I really appreciate a business that can keep up with that! I did not ask for an upgraded stylist since I wanted to get in right away, but I got one regardless of her title (which I still don't know what it is!)
Since I already had the highlights, lowlights and all the other terms in my hair she needed to match it all up and just do the top. The color was phenominal and exactly what I expected. The cut was top of the line and I look fabulous! The head massage, hand massage and great conversation was all the extra things you don't always get. The salon is really set up very professionally yet modern, sleek and stylish. The location for me is perfect and I am so ecstactic that I found my new hair salon at the first place I tried.
They will fill up fast so any previous posts about it being empty is because they are new but they won't be empty for long! I can't wait to go back and any new friends I find will hear about this place and Shey!
My mom and I will go here at least once a year for the spa pedicure- it's amazing; worth the money and worth the drive! Highly recommend trying them out!
I recently went to Olivia to take my hair from very very blonde to my natural color, dark brown. She was really good about walking me through the steps and picking a great color for me. I would highly recommend her to anyone. Karine

It was my very first time visitng Josephines, and I am amazed by this place. I did not have an appointment and was hoping that they accepted walk ins. When I entered the salon, I was amaxed by the friendliness of their staff. THey went above and beyond to help me get the appointment so that I did not have to leave and come back. My mani and pedi were a delight.

Thanks to my fellow Yelpers, I think I finally found what I've been looking for. At least in regards to a hair salon and day spa. I've been looking for a salon that does great work; close to either work or home; and does not take too much time out of my schedule. As an added bonus, they have a no tipping policy.
I went in scheduled for color and cut and met with Michelle as soon as I walked in the door. During my consultation over a glass of red wine, Michelle and I discussed my hair color issues - some gray and low lights. Michelle told me I really didn't need to do both color and low lights, as I had gotten in the past at another salon - so we went with just the low lights. She couldn't promise 100% gray coverage, but advised that I really didn't need to double process my hair because I didn't have too much gray to begin with (that's because I probably pulled them all out before seeing her!). Also, the dual processing obviously damages my hair more than I'd like. I complained to her that the last person who did my red low lights made them so low-key, you could hardly tell they were there. I don't see the sense in paying $80 or more for color that you can't even see - I know low lights are supposed to be subdued and natural, but I like to be able to see them.
Also during the consultation, we talked about deep conditioning and Michelle was honest in telling me that I didn't need the hour treatment that they have because my hair wasn't damaged and was just a bit dry from the coloring. She recommended that I buy the deep conditioner and do it at home. Once again - she saved me some hard earned money. SU-WEET! Instead of having to pay for double processing/color, deep conditioning and tip, I had more money for me to spend buying the wonderful Aveda products that they carry!
After coloring, she took me to the back to get my hair washed. As an added bonus, one of the other girls gave me a hand massage with essential oils. I seriously could get used to the service here.
While cutting my hair, she followed my instructions on wanting to grow out the back. While trimming away, she pointed out areas of layering that my previous stylist had done very poorly. She quickly remedied it by blending the layers into the rest of my hair. After blow drying and styling my hair with some loose waves and I was ready to go. I originally planned on spending about 3-4 hours there - because that's what I'm used to at other places - but to my surprise, I was finished in under two hours!
I will definitely be back. The Aveda products are awesome and the whole service-oriented concept (regardless of tip) is extremely refreshing. They even have a referral program where if you refer a friend and they mention your name, you get $25 towards your next service. I'm not sure how that is actually done because I don't recall leaving my contact information except for my name and phone number, but perhaps they keep all of that on file.

I had about an hour in between appointments in this area and ran into Josephine's for a quick mini pedi. You would have thought that I asked for an entire day of treatments...they were so nice and accommodating.
I LOVE AVEDA! The smell always transforms me and I am immediately relaxed.
Back to my review of my new favorite out of town spa..... My nail tech was super efficient and gave me the best painting of my toes that I have ever received. I mean perfect! When leaving, they gave me around 4 coupons for various services on my return trips. They were so freaking sweet. I love them all...all...every one of them...I mean it!
My client is 3 minutes from this location so you can bet I will be making trips to see them around my spa visits!
Oh, and they have a NO TIP policy. Yes, you cannot tip them...period.
Yay for Josephine's!
L.M. I had a wonderful experience here. Shampoo, cut and blow dry all with a glass of wine! April did a great job of consulting with me to determine the look I was going for.
I have long, thick hair, and she took the time to shape it perfectly, and blow it out all the way.
Having a new stylist you are unfamiliar with is traumatizing the first time so.....did I mention the glass of wine???

I stumbled onto Josephine's once in a rush to have a mani--it was the most relaxing experience ever and I have been coming here ever since. I especially loved the personal attention and care each employee took to make the experience a relaxing one. Whenever Josephine was in, her great personality and memory made me feel like a valued customer instead of the twice a year drop in that I was. Now that I have graduated and am a regular customer, I love the salon even more.
Each service is created to be the best balance of cost & quality. Yes, spending $40 on a haircut may SEEM like a lot to you, but when the stylist takes such care to understand your daily routine and your shampoo likes & dislikes before cutting it, and you couple that with the scalp & hand massage, the lack of a tip (it isn't allowed) and the fantastic service from the receptionist to the sweeper girl, you'll appreciate it all the more.
I never go anywhere else. I am the kind of girl who will stay home and do my own manis & pedis, but when I want to relax, I go into Josephine's and treat myself to a nice relaxing serivce.
Melissa is great at eyebrows, Wynn is great at manis/pedis, Katie cuts hair fantastically, and Josephine was the best facialist EVER. Scarlett is great if you are trying to get a quick appointment in a busy week, and all the girls make every experience a pleasant one.
:o) Lifelong Josephine convert.

I started coming to Josephine's Day Spa & Salon for waxing when I moved back to Houston in 2006 and didn't like the salon's I used to go to in high school. My co-workers highly recommended the salon for hair cuts and color, but also waxing with Joyce specifically. Its pretty funny that my co-worker and I had the same woman for bikini waxes, and I ended up getting our other co-worker a gift certificate for bikini waxing for her wedding. So 3 of us, same office, same waxer... jokes ensue.
Joyce is a great waxer! She uses multiple kinds of wax (cold vs. hot, plant based included- to be expected since it's an Aveda salon) for the different type of hair and location on the body. Her station/room is quiet and always has soothing music playing, a nice touch when you are trying to think about anything besides the pain being inflicted. She's really strict on sanitation, using gloves and wiping the plastic-covered adjustable bed after every use with disinfectant. Joyce is also very pleasant to talk to, which for some people (like me) makes the world of difference when you are nakey from the waist down. The waxes are also very reasonably priced, at ~$30 for a regular bikini and ~$50 for a full Brazilian. They can also do a "mini-Brazilian" which is in between the two and the price is in between the two as well.
In the end, Josephine's was too far (30 mins) for me to drive every month and I kept being late (and then missing) my waxing appointments... sigh. I wish Joyce was closer! So really I give it a 4.5, the -.5 stars is only because of location. As for the salon overall, they always have fresh lemon and cucumber water available, as well as cookies, while you wait. Sooo good! There is also a strict no tipping policy- always nice to know exactly how much it will cost you and no fear that the person waxing you is calling you cheap secretly.

I was given a coupon for a Spa Pedicure at Josephine's by my boss for Valentine's Day. I'd never had a pedicure before, but for random reasons had 2 before redeeming my coupon. They were unimpressive.
For the record, I am not one of those women who forgets to take time out for herself. I'm all ABOUT that. Rainy Friday night? Perfect for a soak in the tub, a foot scrub, painting my toenails, and curling up with a good book and some hot tea. My toiletries cabinet includes a few foot scrubs. My nightstand has peppermint foot lotion next to it so I can use it before I go to bed.
All that to say that other than the bubbly hot-tub-for-feet thing, I could have done the entire pedicure at my own house. I scrub my rough spots, I paint 4 coats of nail polish (1 base, 2 color, 1 topcoat), I even use O.P.I. So why spend the money?
Until! Until I had my spa pedicure today at Josephine's. I was running late b.c I didn't know where it was (Eldridge! For the love!!) and was looking on the wrong side of the street. Stupid Google. But they were cool about it and gave me directions and I was there 2 minutes later.
My pedicure was AMAZING. I don't think Krystle liked my choice of nail polish because she kept suggesting others. Oh well, I LIKE the Don't Socra-Tease Me.
Anyway, the pedicure happened as follows: foot soak followed by nail shaping, followed by exfoliating scrub, followed by generous amounts of minty lotion and then hot damp towels wrapped around the minty lotioned legs and feet, followed by a short hot stone massage, followed by putting my feet in some sort of hot oil(?) in a plastic bag, followed by Aveda foot lotion and the nail polish.
My feet look awesome and they STILL smell good!
Now that? THAT was worth paying for.

One of the best and most professional salons in Houston is hidden away on the west side, far outside the Loop, yet people from all over the city trek here in search of excellence.
Josephine's started out as a simpler incarnation: just a hair salon, at first, and then expanding into a fully-functional day spa with a wide range of expert yet very affordable services. Their hairstylists and colorists are as loyal as their clientele, so you don't have to worry about finding a stylist you like and then following him or her as they move from one salon to another. Their manicurists and pedicurists are friendly and efficient, yet give divine attention and service -- especially if you get the spa mani or pedi.
If you're getting any waxing or facial treatments, prepare to veg out in a relaxing room that makes you totally forget you're in a strip mall on Eldridge. They pay a lot of attention to detail at Josephine's, even when it comes down to the design and amenities of the changing rooms and the music that's played throughout the salon.
Whatever service you're getting, make sure to take their offer of free sodas or wine. If those aren't your bag, then sip on one of the many pitchers of ice-cold water with slices of citrus fruit. If you need any hair or makeup products, Josephine's has a bevy of Aveda products but -- unlike most Aveda-associated salons -- will NOT hard sell you on anything.
One of the other extremely pleasant aspects of Josephine's is their staunch "no tipping" policy. All of the stylists and aestheticians are well-paid and don't have to work for tips, so you don't have to worry about leaving one. If Josephine -- the eponymous owner -- catches you trying to tip someone, prepare for her put the money back in your purse herself!
You'll feel like you've found a home in Josephine's, as so many others have, and I find myself more relaxed there than I do in my own living room at times. If you are searching for a great stylist, then I highly recommend Ashley or Josephine herself (if you can get her!). One last bonus: they routinely send out 10% to 25% off coupons to their customers, which can help you treat yourself to that massage you've been needing.
